My 50 years' experience doing legal transcription, interspersed with 20 years of IT work in law firms, has helped me to develop an extensive skill base when it comes to producing transcripts. I have always loved discovering and exploiting new tools and finding all the ways I can to make the process go smoother, quicker, and to help ensure that the transcript is as accurate as possible. I've never net a macro or a shortcut I didn't like!

This website is the culmination of 30 years of accumulated shortcuts, tips, and tricks that have been sitting in my arsenal, waiting patiently for me to finally take the time to gather all of my toys and put them into a digital space for easy sharing.

Although I have many years' experience doing general (non-medical) transcription work, most of my focus over the 50-year span of transcription has been in the legal space, and the last 20 years has been only legal. Of course, many of the tips you'll find here will be useful in all areas of transcription, but the main focus of this site is to lean in to the unique issues and opportunities that come up in the process of preparing legal transcripts.
